band wagon

so yes i have joined the band wagon on "blogging" only because i have some really exciting things happening my life. i believe god is doing some amazing work right now and i am excited to share it. first off i had my interview with mars hill for the proxy ministry. i met with dustin who seemed very excited about my involvement with the junior high students. he said he was very inspired by my testimony. which made me feel very inspired that this is where i am supposed to be serving. the next step is to get counseling to make sure i am prepared to be a "girl leader" and after i pass that and my back ground check i will be starting the training process. they also said they are in need of girls to help out with worship. this really makes my heart happy. i have such a desire to sing and when he mentioned this to me i couldn't believe it. i have been asking god for a opportunity to sing. but this makes me very nervous at the same time. really i haven't sang in front of people in a long time. however i know right now is a perfect time to start.

this past week i went and saw mr. matisyahu, he is amazing i must say. every time i see him, he gets better. he was on tour with 311, who i must say are awful, some may agree. they sound a bit white trash punk/reggae...bad mix. but the crowd that they brought in was quite entertaining. and the pot smoke cloud that lingered over the crowd was a site to see.

tonight kristin me and a couple of her friends are going to watch graydon, lower lights burning play up here in seattle. i am pretty excited, i haven't seen him play since last year. it shall be fun. then i will make the journey to shelton for a nice long weekend filled with girls nights, chocolates, hard core shows, and family.... =)

:) i found you!! and am glad you have a blog my dear. i love when i get to hear about how you're doing! and it is good to see that your being a leader is in the process of becoming a reality for you! i'm very excited for what it has in store for you this year.

we are not sure of when we'll be up to seattle again. sometime sooner than later i am sure. we thought about calling last week when it seemed like we were constantly there, but they needed lots of help and it tired us out! so it should be getting easier soon. we'll make it happen. :)

Hi Mandy!
I found you on Lauree's blog spot. How exciting for you to be activly serving The Lord in a great Church. They will be blessed to have you on board...and just wait 'till they hear you sing! : )

I've wanted to give you a huge hug since I read the bulletin you posted on your myspace about the day you and Brian accidentally ended up at the gay pride march and you saw the "christian" activists being so mean and hateful.
What you wrote was so well said. I wish it could be published.
On behalf of Jeff, Len and I went to a Love Won Out confrence on August 4 in Portland. It was encouraging and gave such hope to our hearts. But the main message they were speaking was how "the church" needs to lead the way in showing unconditional love and grace, as Jesus does, to the gay community.
I/we sure never expected to be thrust face to face with homosexuality like we have been, but here we are. Now we are doing all we can to learn, grow in compassion and when the Spirit leads, to speak truth in love.
Trust is becoming second nature to me. That is a GOD THING!
Anyway, I just wanted to thank you for your compassionate heart and for you desire to love like Jesus loves.

If we can make it through each day looking more like Jesus, then I believe we will make a difference in this life.
